I am a Whistler officiant and a certified Life-Cycle Celebrant. Officially Reverend Steven Stemmler, but, I am not that formal, so I just go by Steve, or my Instagram handle @Whistler_Steve.
I am a husband, cat-dad, wedding photographer, skier, snowboarder, mountain biker, SUPer, camper, and overall lover of the mountains. My wife Tara and I moved to Whistler in 2016 from Ontario and transitioned our wedding photography business to the West (best) Coast! After photographing over 400 weddings, becoming a Whistler officiant was a natural addition to our services.
Life in the Mountains
Living in Whistler has been a dream come true. When Tara and I were living in Ontario, we were spending all of our spare time flying to BC to snowboard or go hiking. One day, we just made the decision to transition our business to Whistler, sell our house and buy a condo at the base of Whistler. Nowhere has ever felt more like home than Creekside. Add in our two adorable 7-year old Kittens and life is good.
Whistler OFficiant
Becoming a whistler officiant has been a transition that has brought so much joy to my life. Being able to craft a wedding ceremony that can showcase all of the joy and laughter (AND THE TEARS) that couples feel when making a commitment to each other, is an honour. Having been called the Bride-whisperer, a calming presence and booming voice lets me thrive in the officiant role.
Whistler ELopements
Creating our sister company, Whistler Elopements, has allowed Tara and I, along with Paul to create wedding celebrations that are tailored to each unique couple. I am the Whistler officiant, Tara is on photography, and paul on video. we supply all of the necessary ingredients (including two witnesses!) From simple Valley elopements, to helicopter and 4x4 alpine experiences, the sky is the limit. Let us know if we can give you some more ideas!
