A Winter Canadian Wilderness Adventures Wedding | Jen + Chris

Some wedding days feel like magic. Not because of what they look like—but because of how they feel. Jen + Chris’s January wedding at the Canadian Wilderness Adventures Barn had that energy in spades: warm hearts, cold air, a big crew of guests wrapped in blankets and joy. It was one of those crisp, bluebird Whistler winter days where the snow crunches just right under your boots, and the air feels extra alive.
It was cold. Like, really cold. But that kind of cold that makes everything sharper—the laughter, the champagne bubbles, the way the sun hit the fresh blanket of snow in the forest. The ceremony took place just beyond the Barn in the woods, and I swear for a second it felt like we were standing in a snow globe.
The team at Petite Pearl (with stunning florals from Fleurescent Blooms) brought this day to life with intention and ease. Jess, who owns both, is calm, dialled, and endlessly creative. From the heated interior of the Barn strung with candles and warm lights, to the way they welcomed 120 guests into an off-grid space like it was their own home, everything felt cozy, personal, and full of meaning.
But the real magic? That was Jen + Chris.
They met on Hinge, but their first date was skis-on. Adventurers from the start, they’ve since survived gravel bike expeditions in the Dolomites, stage races, and a whole lot of wild travel stories. Their lives have taken them from Tahoe to San Francisco, Seattle to Mexico, and now off to London. But for this one day, everyone they loved came together in Whistler to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter.
And they did it in their way—no white tablecloths, no over-the-top fuss. Just a barn in the woods, full of people dancing hard, laughing loud, and making memories.
It wasn’t just beautiful. It felt real. Honest. Them.
The kind of wedding that reminds me why I do this work.
