Lindsay + Kevin’s Nita Lake Lodge Wedding

Lindsay and Kevin’s Nita Lake Lodge wedding was a beautiful reflection of what matters most: time with the people you love, in a place that feels like home. They chose the longest day of the year — summer solstice — so they could soak up every moment with the people who had traveled from BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan to celebrate in Whistler, a place deeply rooted in their relationship.
These two are avid mountain bikers, often found ripping laps through the Whistler Bike Park, and you could feel that adventurous spirit woven into their wedding weekend — not in an over-the-top way, but in the relaxed, grounded way they moved through the day.
They had what I’d call the epitome of a Nita Lake Lodge wedding. The girls got ready in the Rainforest Suite, tucked above the treetops, while the guys hung out in a Lakeview Suite with windows overlooking the water. The ceremony took place beneath the porte-cochère — an elegant and weather-safe space that still feels connected to the surrounding nature. Cocktail hour flowed out onto the patio by the lake, complete with an oyster bar (a personal favourite). And their reception in the ballroom was equal parts heartfelt and high energy — exactly what a celebration should be.
What made this day stand out, though, was how Lindsay and Kevin made it their own. Instead of doing portraits during the typical afternoon window, we shifted things around. After a few quick wedding party photos near the hotel, we all crossed over to Creekside and at the bar at Dusty’s — the original Whistler bar, long before the Village even existed.
It was perfect. Their whole wedding party did a shotski (not a drop spilled — pros only), and everyone just got to be together. It wasn’t about posing or chasing mountain backdrops — it was about sharing a beer with your best friends in a place that means something to you. It gave them time to breathe, laugh, and soak in what was about to happen — without rushing or putting on a show.
That’s what I loved most about this day: it was a quiet rebellion against the idea that weddings need to follow a script. Lindsay and Kevin didn’t need epic helicopter views or Pinterest-perfect timelines. They chose connection over convention. Meaning over mimicry. And in doing so, they created something real — something that reflected them.
