Anna + Alex | Sea to Sky Gondola Wedding Photography

Anna and Alex’s wedding was the perfect combination of adventure, intimacy, and celebrating in a place they truly love. Their Sea-to-Sky Wedding photography was a perfect day in Whistler.

These two first crossed paths while Anna was in medical school, and it didn’t take long for their connection to grow into something real. Life took them in different directions for a while, and they navigated a long-distance relationship like pros—building a strong foundation through countless phone calls, airport hellos, and quick weekends together. Eventually, they found their home together in North Carolina, but when it came to their wedding, they knew they wanted to return to one of their favourite places: Squamish.

If you’re a climber, you know Squamish needs no introduction—it’s one of the rock climbing capitals of North America. For Anna and Alex, it’s been a place of both challenge and joy, a backdrop for adventures and memories. So it felt right to bring their closest people here for their day.

They invited 35 of their favourite humans, all traveling from the States to celebrate alongside them. Keeping it small meant every guest played a big role in the celebration—there were no “obligations” on this guest list, just family and friends who have been part of their story from the start.

The day began at Sunwolf, tucked among towering trees beside the river. The morning felt slow and easy, with Alex getting ready in one of the cozy cabins while Anna and her friends laughed together in another. Once ready, we headed up the Sea to Sky Gondola for portraits and their ceremony. The weather could not have been better—blue skies, a few picture-perfect clouds, and the kind of light that makes everything look just a little bit more magical.

Anna and Alex chose to keep their wedding party small—just their two closest friends stood with them. The ceremony backdrop was breathtaking, with Howe Sound stretching into the horizon and the surrounding peaks rising around us. They exchanged vows, shared quiet smiles, and let the moment sink in before heading back down for the next part of the day.

Back at Sunwolf, guests enjoyed cocktails and an incredible dinner in the historic train car. As the sun began to set, Anna and Alex had their first dance outside on the lawn—just the two of them surrounded by their people and the sound of the river in the background. Anna slipped away for a quick dress change before we wandered down to the river for some incredible sunset portraits, wading into the water and laughing together as the day wound down.

It was a day filled with the things that mattered most to them: spending real, unhurried time together, celebrating with the people they love most, and getting married in a place that holds so many good memories. No big production, no endless formalities—just the best kind of wedding day, one that felt entirely like them.
