Lauren + Eric’s SLCC Wedding in Whistler

Lauren and Eric planned their wedding day around the things they love most: each other, their people, and the places in Whistler that hold meaning for them.

They got ready at the Pan Pacific — just steps from the mountains — before heading to the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (SLCC), where they held their ceremony on the Mezzanine. The space is full of texture and warmth. Stone, wood, trees — it feels like you’re tucked into nature, even though you’re in the heart of Whistler. An SLCC wedding offers a powerful sense of place. It’s grounded, sacred, and beautiful in a quiet way.

After the ceremony, we took a slow walk over to The Raven Room, one of my favourite spots in Whistler (and where the reception was held). On the way, we stopped in Rebagliati Park for some wedding party photos — it’s a small park with huge Whistler energy: lush greenery, mountain views, and just a few minutes from the venues. The Raven Room was transformed for an intimate long-table dinner, with soft string lights and a dance floor under the stars. You could feel how close everyone was — it felt like one big, joyful dinner party.

But one of the most memorable parts of the day happened before all of that — after their first look, but before the ceremony. Lauren and Eric carved out space for each other. No distractions, no rush. Just the two of them. They popped their favourite bottle of Champagne, read private vows, and soaked in the moment — quite literally, since they flew by helicopter to the alpine shores of Marriage Lake, a place as beautiful as it sounds. The water was glacier blue, the air quiet. It gave them time to breathe, connect, and be together before sharing the rest of the day with everyone else.

That’s the kind of energy I love to help couples create — a day that feels like them. A wedding that celebrates connection, not just tradition.
