A Sunwolf Wedding Rooted in Connection
Frances and Jonathan’s Sunwolf wedding was everything they hoped for: relaxed, joyful, and centred around the people they love most.
Their story began in the most everyday, serendipitous way — at a bus stop after practice at UBC. Frances was coming from softball, Jonathan from field hockey. A conversation turned into Jonathan choosing to take the same bus, which turned into a drink, which turned into a life together. Nine years later, after a simple walk through Queen Elizabeth Park near their home, Jonathan proposed.
Their Sunwolf wedding day followed that same energy — unforced, meaningful, and full of laughter.

First Look at Sunwolf Lodge
We started the day with a first look right at Sunwolf Lodge. Tucked into the forest with the sound of the river nearby, it’s a perfect place to slow things down before the day really begins.
Frances and Jonathan shared a quiet moment together before heading out on an adventure — just the two of them — something that felt very them.
Adventure Portraits in the Forest and Mountains
After the first look, we hopped in the car and drove up an FSR, stopping first in a mossy forest where soft sunlight filtered through the trees. These are the kinds of places that make portraits feel effortless — space to move, breathe, and simply be together.
We finished the drive at a mountain lookout facing the Tantalus Range. Big views, open sky, and a reminder of why Squamish is such an incredible place to get married.
These quiet adventure moments often become some of the most meaningful images of the day.
Wedding Party Portraits Back at Sunwolf
Back near Sunwolf, we met up with the wedding party for portraits. Frances and Jonathan wanted photos that felt natural — a mix of a few gently guided moments and lots of organic interaction.
Sunwolf’s grounds make this easy. Everything is close, calm, and surrounded by nature, which keeps the energy relaxed and the timeline flowing smoothly.
A Riverside Ceremony at Sunwolf
The ceremony took place overlooking the river — one of Sunwolf’s most iconic features. Surrounded by trees, flowing water, and their closest friends and family, Frances and Jonathan exchanged vows filled with warmth, humour, and genuine emotion.
You could feel how important it was to them to have everyone they love together in one place — and that sense of connection carried through the entire day.
Cocktail Hour, Dinner, and Dancing Under the Tent
Following the ceremony, guests moved into cocktail hour before settling into dinner and dancing under the tent. Sunwolf’s setup creates a natural progression from one part of the day to the next, keeping people engaged without ever feeling rushed.
Laughter filled the space, conversations flowed easily, and the dance floor quickly came alive.
Sunset by the River & A Party Dress Moment
As the light softened, we snuck away for a few sunset photos by the river — a quiet pause before the night ramped up again. Shortly after, Frances changed into a party dress, fully leaning into the celebration and setting the tone for the rest of the evening.
It was the perfect ending to a day that balanced intention, adventure, and pure fun.
